APT's classic film helps WTVS become the top GRP earner of primetime on October 15
CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, part of APT's 20th Century Fox Classics package, earned strong ratings for several public television stations on October 15. WTVS/Detroit aired the movie at 9:00 p.m. and received a 3.9/6, APT's highest-rated show in primetime. In fact, this airing helped WTVS become the top GRP earner of the night.
PubTV noted the film's success in its daily ratings analysis, " both unusual and successful was APT's presentation of the recently remade 'reality' film Cheaper by the Dozen, on WTVS/Detroit."
WNED also aired CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN on October 15 and earned a 2.7/4, the highest-rated show on this station during the primetime programming slot.
CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, an 85 minute movie from 1950, is available from APT Syndication through October 31, 2004. The movie is a charming turn-of-the-century story featuring the 12 Gilbreth children, their exacting father and tireless mother. It is one of the most enduring "family" films ever to emerge from Hollywood.
