APT HD premieres four new documentaries on successive Sundays in November.
We begin on November 2, with KPBS' Alzheimer's: The Cost of Growing Old (1x30; HD) to mark Alzheimer's Awareness Month. This dramatic special shows the toll the disease takes on the patients and caregivers, both emotionally and financially, while nationally recognized experts discuss the disease's potential impact on the United States.
The following Sunday, if you haven't already succumbed to election fever, take a civics refresher with WCVE's Questioning the Constitution (1x60; Widescreen). Politicians, scholars and activists detail the development and structure of the Constitution, its various interpretations and the debate surrounding its possible reformation. Features Julian Bond, Bob Dole and Geraldine Ferraro.
Next, KCTS' fast-paced documentary Chihuly in the Hotshop (1x60; HD) finds glass artist Dale Chihuly re-creating his most famous works during a week-long residency at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.
On the 23rd, we debut the latest installment of the Great Museums Specials series. Smithsonian National Zoo: Wild Thing! (1x60; HD), goes behind-the-scenes at the world-famous National Zoo in Washington, D.C., where scientists, curators, animal keepers, veterinarians and volunteers work to preserve endangered species on the edge of extinction.
