APT WORLDWIDE BRINGS NEW
HD COOKING AND TRAVEL SERIES TO MIPCOM
Boston (October 10, 2007) -- APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has added three new high-definition lifestyle series to its lineup for MIPCOM: The Best Recipes in the World, Equitrekking and How to Cook Everything.
In The Best Recipes in the World (13x30) and How to Cook Everything (13x30), best-selling cookbook author, New York Times food columnist and noted curmudgeon Mark Bittman goes one-on-one with some of the world's most talented chefs, putting his bold claim of always being right to the test.
Equitrekking (13x30) is the first travel series to discover the world's spectacular destinations on horseback. From the lush countryside of Ireland to the rugged, scenic landscapes of Iceland, the high-definition series explores the people, lands and cultures whose histories are intertwined with horses.
Other new titles that the company will bring to MIPCOM include: Seeing in the Dark (1x60), a visually stunning, high-definition look at how amateur astronomers are exploring deep space and discovering the wonders of the universe; Democracy on Deadline: The Global Struggle for an Independent Press (1x120, 2x60), a compelling documentary that follows journalists into some of the most dangerous corners of the world to reveal the risks that they must face in order to obtain their stories; Stand Up: Muslim-American Comics Come of Age (1x60), a provocative and hilarious look at the emergence of five Muslim-American comedians; Kansas to Kandahar: Citizen Soldiers at War (1x90), a powerful documentary that examines 15 months in the lives of citizen soldiers called to duty in Afghanistan; Loreena McKennitt: Nights from the Alhambra (1x45, 1x52, 1x135), an enchanting musical performance from singer/composer Loreena McKennitt, set in the famed medieval Spanish palace; and The New Orleans Concert: The Music of America's Soul (1x60, 1x75), a rollicking celebration of Big Easy music, with an all-star musical lineup that includes Bonnie Raitt, Keith Richards and Joss Stone.
