APT Presented 10 of the Top 25 Public Television Programs During the 2005-2006 season
APT continues to be a major presence among public television's most viewed primetime and fringe (7pm–12am ET or equivalent) titles.
APT Ratings Successes — Year in Review (October 1, 2005 - October 1, 2006)
Top titles (see chart below):
- APT presented 10 of the top 20, 25 of the top 50 and 48 of the top 100 series and specials on
primary-service stations
- The top APT program was the feature film The Great Escape, ranked fourth.
Movies:
- This year, the four top-rated APT programs were classic movies: The Great Escape, ranked fourth; North by
Northwest, fifth; Dial M for Murder, sixth; and That's Entertainment, tenth.
- APT-distributed classic movies accounted for eight of the top-10 widely carried (15+ times) APT titles by rating.
- Twenty-five of the top 100 PTV titles are APT movies.
Pledge specials:
- During the three full and one partial nationwide drives in this report's interval, APT provided three of the 10 top-
rated pledge programs in December, three in March, three in June, and six in August (held in September on some stations), as well as the top-rated programs in December and August/September.
