Boston, Mass. (March 23, 2005) APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has secured international representation rights for the one-hour documentary, The Hydrogen Age. Produced by Colorado-based production company Hydrogen 2000, the film is a look at hydrogen's potential to become the clean, renewable resource that solves the world's critical energy concerns.

Narrated by actor Leonard Nimoy, The Hydrogen Age travels to countries such as Iceland, Japan, Germany, China, and the United Kingdom to investigate the use of hydrogen power and explore hydrogen-based technical innovations. From cars that can be used to power homes to factories that emit no pollution, the film showcases the startling benefits of this revolutionary resource.

The current demand for energy is unprecedented. Rising population rates and increased industrialization in developing nations have created consumption levels that will soon overwhelm the Earth's fossil fuel reserves. Faced with political instability and economic uncertainty, governments around the world have begun to invest billions of dollars into hydrogen energy research.

Will the use of hydrogen — the most abundant element in the universe — pull the world back from the brink of an energy crisis? And can the adoption of hydrogen power reduce, if not end, environmental dangers such as global warming? The Hydrogen Age tackles these topical questions, presenting a fascinating look at an energy source with the potential to change the way the world powers its future.
