How To\Painting  TV-G

In his second season of WYLAND'S ART STUDIO, marine-life artist Wyland combines his love for the environment with his techniques and processes to create rich and vibrant photorealistic paintings. Taped on location in his oceanside studios in Laguna Beach, Ca., WYLAND'S ART STUDIO takes viewers step-by-step through each of Wyland's paintings, from backgrounds to "ghosting" to blending techniques. Throughout the series, Wyland discusses concepts such as value painting, perspective, drawing, color theory, color mixing, texture, rhythm, emphasis, scale, form and others to help viewers get started on their first painting. Each episode features footage shot in the wild of Wyland's painting subjects, which include sea turtles, manatees, dolphins, mangroves, the open sea, big surf, sea lions, Maui's breaching humpback whales, coconuts and a full moon. Wyland works on canvas with non-toxic, water-based oil paint safe for both the environment and for families and pets. In keeping with his eco-friendly approach to painting, Wyland closes each episode with a useful tip for helping the environment.
