Techno Games 2000 , an innovative series from the makers of Robot Wars , captures the techno-sporting extravaganza held at London's Millennium Dome during the U.K.'s National Science Week. More than 50 schools competed in 2000's inaugural games, striving to produce efficient, creative and dexterous robots that can participate in Olympic-style events. Additional segments provide insight into real-world robotic applications. The program has the look and excitement of a major sporting event, but it keeps the emphasis on the science behind the robots and the inventiveness of their young creators.
