The anthology series AFROPOP: THE ULTIMATE CULTURAL EXCHANGE continues its exploration of the present-day realities and contemporary lifestyles of Africans, both on the continent and in the evolving diaspora. These artful, independent films offer complicated, and at times controversial, viewpoints about Africa. This season of AFROPOP is hosted by comedian Wyatt Cenac, a writer and correspondent on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Films include "Calypso Rose: The Lioness of the Jungle," a profile of Caribbean music legend Calypso Rose; "Everyday Sunshine," a biography of genre-breaking, black ska-punk rock band Fishbone; "That's My Face," a chronicle of documentarian Thomas Allen Harris' quest to find his spiritual ancestors; and "Burning in the Sun," a film which follows a young social entrepreneur on a mission to electrify the rural households in his native Mali.
